POSITIONS: Junior Mining Engineers
WORKS FOR: Senior Mine Planning Engineer – Short Term
QUALIFICATION: Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering
JOB FUNCTION: To Support the Senior Mine Planning Engineer in dispatching the duties of the
EXPERIENCE: At least 2 years relevant experience in the Mining industry, preferably in Open Pit Operation.

• Monitoring & Supervision
• Designing, Planning & Scheduling
• Data Collection and interpretation
• Risk Assessment
• Report Writing
DUTIES / ACCOUNTABILITY:
Provide support to the Senior Mine Planning Engineer in linking
budget (medium-term) objectives to weekly and daily objectives through
effective mine planning and scheduling. Role is to identify risks,
opportunities and constraints and provide timely technical support to
Mining Operations team through daily and weekly communication.
To assist the Senior Mine Planning Engineer in facilitating weekly
pre-planning and planning discussions or communication sessions with the
stakeholders that include Geology, HME, Mining Operations, Survey,
Geotech, Drill & Blast, Fleet Management and other role players.
To be accountable for the timely generation of the Bench Operating
Plans (BOPs) for the pits following guidelines provided by the Planning
Superintendent and Senior Mine Planning Engineer.
To be accountable for ensuring that weekly forecasts are aligned to the long-term waste dumping schedules.
To provide support to the Senior Mine Planning Engineer by timely
compiling reconciliation (visuals/graphical and statistics) against
plans and schedules on a weekly and monthly basis.
To assist the Senior Mine Planning Engineer in compiling reports on a
regular basis in line with internal reporting requirements.
To be accountable for assisting in identifying and ranking the risks in work area and for the team.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Computer literate in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
and basic knowledge in mining software like designing and scheduling.
Must have good written and oral communication skills in English and Swahili Language.
Able to drive and hold a current Tanzanian Driver’s License.
Ability to work within a team environment
